Little Milestones is a family owned and operated childcare center. We have been providing quality childcare and education since 2010. Ginny Hufnagel, Alissa Saarmann and Ashley Gorton are a mother and daughter team that collectively have set lofty standards of professionalism, thoughtfulness and attentiveness that each family deserves.
We believe play is the heart of early childhood learning. While “academics” can sometimes feel like long hours at a desk, we know young children learn best through movement, exploration, and hands-on experiences in nature. A strong program doesn’t choose between play and preparation—it thoughtfully blends both.
At Little Milestones, we weave early academic skills into play-based and nature-based learning, supporting the whole child in a way that feels joyful and engaging. Through a consistent and nurturing daily rhythm, children feel secure, confident, and ready to explore.
With a balance of love, guidance, structure, outdoor exploration, and meaningful play, our goal is to help each child grow, build relationships, discover the world around them, and develop the skills they need for kindergarten—without losing the magic of childhood.
Probably one of the most important details that defines our program is how intentional we are in who we hire. We look beyond a teacher’s ability to provide care and education and consider the whole person. Qualities like patience, inclusivity, strong values, open-minded thinking, and adaptability are just as important to us as experience and training. We believe that when educators embody these qualities, they naturally create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow.
